Our Story
Founded in 2019 by Majeda Khouri, a Syrian chef and human rights activist, The Syrian Sunflower is dedicated to bringing the vibrant flavors of Middle East to London. Majeda sought refuge in the UK in 2017 and began catering to integrate into British society, share her rich culture, and support human rights causes. She used food as a way to tell her story and raise awareness about the situation in Syria. Through The Syrian Sunflower, Majeda continues to share her heritage, advocate for human rights, and unite people through the universal language of food.

We had Majeda cater our wedding party and we couldn’t have been happier with the service provided! The food was not only delicious but also displayed beautifully on the table (our favourites were the Kibbeh and Qatayef). Majeda was calm and flexible in the organisation of the day and even catered gluten free for myself and my brother who have Coeliac disease.

How many guests can you serve?
We can comfortably cater for up to 500 guests. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, we’re ready to make it spectacular!
Do you offer tasting sessions?
Absolutely, we do offer tasting sessions. These can be free or paid, depending on the specifics of your event. Just let us know, and we’ll arrange a delicious preview for you!
How long does it take your staff to set up, and do you need any specific facilities at the venue?
Our setup time can vary from half an hour to two hours, depending on the size and complexity of your event. The best part? We don’t need any special facilities at your venue. We bring everything we need to create a seamless experience.
When do you need the final guest count?
We kindly ask for the final guest count at least 5 days before your event. This ensures we have enough time to prepare and make sure everything is perfect for your big day.
What are your recommendations based on my budget?
Our menus are wonderfully flexible, with options to suit every budget. We’ll work closely with you to create a menu that not only fits your financial plan but also leaves your guests wondering if they’ve accidentally wandered into a five-star restaurant.
Do you have options for dietary restrictions?
Yes, we cater to a variety of dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, and more. Just let us know your requirements, and we’ll ensure everyone is well-fed, happy, and not going into shock.
